Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island: Heart Of Rocks

Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island: Heart Of Rocks Koletsos Someone thinks a lot of "Mom Koletsos". I came across this declaration of admiration on the beach at Honeymoon Island during a recent photo safari. It made me smile, and it still does every time I see it. I have no idea who Mom Koletsos is, but she must be doing something right!

Dunedin, Florida: Dunedin Fine Art Center

Click for larger picture in a new window
Dunedin, Florida: Dunedin Fine Art Center This is the Dunedin Fine Art Center. It is a wonderful place, where you can get up close to art by artists from all over, including Dunedin. In addition, they offer classes so you can discover the artist in you. On top of all that, it is a really neat place to see what is going on. So we will be visiting the Center again.

Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island Trail To Dog Beach, Hurricane Pass

Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island Trail To Dog Beach, Hurricane Pass If you can resist the temptation to park nearer to Cafe Honeymoon, parking at the south end of the main lot on Honeymoon Island puts you right close to the entrance to this ordinary looking trail. This is the trail to the Pet (Dog) Beach, which borders Hurricane Pass.

Follow it out to the sand, and you will be rewarded with a nearly endless vista of blue skies, white sand, and the blue-green waters of the Gulf Of Mexico. Take your time. Breathe deeply. Relax.

Dunedin, Florida: Chopper Motorcycle Low Riding Beauty

Click for larger picture in a new window
Dunedin, Florida: Chopper Motorcycle Low Rider Generally speaking, I always have room on my camera card for another picture of a motorcycle. Especially for a beautiful, sleek machine like this low-riding beauty. From the sweet spoked front wheel to the fat boy rear tire with the form-fitting fender, this machine is a rolling testament to the marriage of form and function.

I don't know that I will ever own one of these otherworldly machines, but I enjoy seeing them, and I can't help snapping them when I get the chance. I thought it a delightful stroke of luck to find one at the BOWser Games in Dunedin recently, with enough space around it to take a good picture. *If you know anything about this particular chopper, please feel free to leave a comment or email me so I can share it with the other visitors to this site.

If you are in the market for motorcycle parts, or motorcycle accessories, or motorcycle protective gear, shopping through these links or the banner below helps to support Dunedin Daily Photo. Thanks!

Dunedin, Florida: Lake Paloma: An Inkling Of Ibis

Dunedin, Florida: Lake Paloma: An Inkling Of Ibis Flock Birds If I actually took a picture of these beautiful birds every time I saw them and thought about it, this would be Ibis Daily Photo instead! Just think of it... Ibis every day! A new and different photograph of Ibis each and every day... Yeah, probably not happening, eh? LOL!

But seriously, I do find them fascinating, and beautiful. So if you see a few more pictures of them on here than you might expect, I hope you will forgive me. Thanks, and Happy Presidents Day!

Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island Sunset: Lovers

Click for larger picture in a new window
Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island Sunset: Lovers Romance Like I said, there is another whole dimension to a sunset. After all, if there is no one to see it, does a sunset look so awesome or wonderful or... romantic? Perhaps, perhaps not. But I can tell you, for a pair of lovers marvelling at the sunset together, the colors are richer, deeper, more intense than if no one were to see it at all.

I believe any given sunset looks different to each person that sees it. Some might simply see a planetary phenomenon that has played out millions of times over the eons. Other might not see a sunset at all, but rather the rotation of a spot on earth from looking one way to looking another. Me? I see the most incredibly splendid, postively cataclysmic, and yet daily, reminder of beginnings and endings, birth and death, finality and eternity. Every day must end... and yet, a new day must come.

As for these lovers? They see their love, their devotion for each other, painted across the sky for the world to see. And we do see... and we marvel.
