Dunedin, Florida: Honeymoon Island Beach: Michael Phelps' Secret Training Waters Now that the Beijing Olympics are over, I can finally reveal Michael Phelps' secret training location: Honeymoon Island Beach! No surprise he won 8 gold medals!

Okay, it's true, that is not Michael Phelps. And I doubt he has ever heard of Honeymoon Island, here in Dunedin, Florida. But it's a fun thought! That guy is awesome!

    Hi Wayne,
    I've been to Dunedin several times but have never been in the water,I blame it on the jelly fish. Are they a common problem or is it rare for someone to get stung?

    I cannot ever recall hearing about someone getting stung by a jelly fish out there at Honeymoon Island Beach. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but I suspect not too often, and not very serious. I could be wrong, but I think it is plenty safe to swim there. Just remember to shuffle your feet, and keep an eye open for the jelly fish.
