Here is another of many quaint shops in the Downtown Dunedin area. Paper Players is a stationery and paper store. They have a nice website too. Click here to check it out if you like. It's wonderful how they turned this old home into a home for their store. Very welcoming, like so many shops in Dunedin's Downtown shopping district.

Nice photograph of a business that is on the way out. Unfortunately, but maybe it is fortunate. We need the trees to live so in that respect the sooner newspapers stop printing spam and switch to online papers I think we will be better off. I mention this business going out of busines because just in 20 years or maybe 30, the paper business has been in a huge decline. Everything from ballpoint pens to fountain pens and ink have also declined. The post office screams for people to send more letters. I think, like my time when the blacksmiths disappeared, almost overnight, that the paper industry will disappear too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first opened Paper Moon, I wanted to open it in an old house, but I couldn't find the right one. This is lovely. Are they closing? I didn't get that impression from your entry or their site, but maybe I missed it. . .
ReplyDeleteIt gives me hope, when I see businesses like this, that people do still write and send letters by snail mail. I love receiving and writing real letters.
ReplyDeleteAbout where your tools should be kept, why, in the big house, of course.
this is one of the amazing things in dunedin : the shops that are more like homes . it's a great feeling .
ReplyDeleteWhat an inviting looking shop and an original name. I hope their business is doing well and continues for a long time.
