Here is another, wider, view of the overpass we saw in yesterday's post. It is, as you probably noticed, somewhat of a caged affair. I suspect it has to do with making sure nothing gets thrown onto the highway below. And then, it might have to do with making sure nobody can climb over the top and fall. I don't know their actual thinking on this one, I can only guess.
Either way, it beats the heck out of trying to cross busy Alternate Highway 19 directly. It is a busy road, and I am sure this overpass prevents a number of tragedies each year.

Nice photograph of the overpass from below, Wayne,I have a similar photograph today, similar in the viewpoint from below of an overpass but mine is of the metrorail.

ReplyDeleteI've hammered my bike over that overpass many times; you're right, it sure beats dealing with traffic. Heading in that direction will take you to the sponge docks at Tarpon Springs;very interesting area. Heading in the other direction will take you to Gulfport and St Petes; both very interesting places. The pinellas bike trail is a real asset to the area.
