Let's review: First, it is a Volkswagen Beetle (Bug), and I LOVE VW Bugs! We've had numerous Bugs in my family over the course of the last three generations, and I would drive one again in a heartbeat. My own first was a '64 that ran on a 6 volt electric system.
Second, the way this baby is painted and decorated is AWESOME. I love the United States flag design. It's wonderful. And if you look closely, there are rope lights all over it. I just wish I could have gotten a picture of it while it was lit up. Not to mention the decal on the front window that says Greyhound Taxi.
Third, and finally, the front license plate. This is a license plate you can only get from Florida Blood Services. And what is the big deal there? Well, it recognizes the owner for having donated 26 GALLONS of blood! That is an enormous amount of blood donated. If you take it a step further, that means this person has saved a lot of lives!
Hi Wayne, I'm glad my photo relaxed you for a moment. I'm all about relaxation lately; I just can't get enough of it.
ReplyDeleteThis bug is really nice and I guess it's niceness reflects the big heart of its 26 gallon owner.
It looks as if a pledge of allegience is in order for this car. I could see it driving in a parade, and all the spectators putting their hands over their hearts, while the national anthem plays.
ReplyDeleteSomeone posted a VW decorated with a Hawaiian leigh on it, a while back, did you get to see it? They sure can come up with some cute paint jobs on those little bugs. Some are even painted like lady bugs, and are the perfect shape.
Looks like a fun car to drive.
ReplyDeletehow wonderful - the flags, the person who donated so much blood...
ReplyDeleteGotta love the Bug!
ReplyDeleteWhen I traded in my SUV last year, I considered a Bug. . . .a red one with black spots (Ladybug), or a yellow with black stripes (Bee). The Mini won out, though. But, I still like Bugs. This is a pretty cool one. I'd love to see it with the lights on.
As someone who can't donate blood, I admire those who can and do!
Such a beauty. The owner must be proud of it .... and his country!
ReplyDeletethe picture is really cool . so is the car . and i didn't have any doubts about the patriotic spirit beeing alive and well . it's not 100% patriotic though , the car is german .
ReplyDeleteThat's a fab picture! I'd love to drive a Beetle (we don't call them bugs over here, I wonder why?), they've got such character. Not sure a car painted with your flag would last too long parked outside my flat though!

I can't tell you how proud it makes me to this picture. I'm a military officer, a thirteen gallon blood donor, and VP with Florida Blood Services. I've been in blood banking for 27 years and I'm happy to see someone proud of thier country and proud of the fact they make a difference in many lives through the unselfish ack of giving blood.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this picture!
Merry Christmas and God Bless America!
