Generally speaking, I always have room on my camera card for another picture of a motorcycle. Especially for a beautiful, sleek machine like this low-riding beauty. From the sweet spoked front wheel to the fat boy rear tire with the form-fitting fender, this machine is a rolling testament to the marriage of form and function.
I don't know that I will ever own one of these otherworldly machines, but I enjoy seeing them, and I can't help snapping them when I get the chance. I thought it a delightful stroke of luck to find one at the BOWser Games in Dunedin recently, with enough space around it to take a good picture. *If you know anything about this particular chopper, please feel free to leave a comment or email me so I can share it with the other visitors to this site.

Motorcycles are neat to look at, I havent been on one in over 20 years though.
ReplyDeleteah, ah, ah, I am so waiting for the first 2008 bike ride! but the streets are too icy for that. I skidded yesterday by car when I left the parking lot, so... But in the meantime, this is a great picture, and makes the things a little bit better :).
ReplyDeleteI love the shot. I keep threatening my wife that when the last child moves out we are either getting a touring bike and hitting he road for a year or selling all our stuff and buying a big sailboat. Always good to keep the dream alive!

ReplyDeleteWell Wayne ole boy; it's a little hard to see but i suspect that's an old Harley hardtail. notice there are no springs or shocks on the back; the only cushion is from the seat and the air in the rear tire. the engine is a v twin; i think it's probably a Harley though the Japanese copy everything so it could be a Honda Davidson. whatever it is the ride would be very hard; couldn't ride it for long before getting sore all over. looks kind of cool in a way but Wayne it's not you; get a sports touring bike like a Bandit or an SV650; NOW your talking.

ReplyDeleteDefinitly a Harley engine, the frame is custom. No rear suspension makes it a back breaker. Forward controls for rear brake and shifter makes you hunch forward. Probably very uncomfortable to ride, very slow handling. really loud exhaust.ohh well, what do you expect, they're not called boulavard cruisers for nothing.
