With reality TV all the rage, and all the drama and trauma that is used to sell advertising, it's easy to see conflict in this photograph. There are those on the water who want to enjoy the peace and tranquility that a sail driven boat provides. There are those on the water who want to enjoy the thrill and the rush that comes from screaming across the waves to the roar of internal combustion engines. It seems like a situation ripe for conflict.
BUT... what this picture really shows is that here in Florida, and here in Dunedin, and ESPECIALLY out here on the Dunedin Causeway, there is ample opportunity for everyone to enjoy life at whatever pace suits them best! If you want to go fast, GO FAST! If you want to slow down and smell the salt spray, then slow down and relax. Just please, be SAFE, and respect each other. Then we all have a good time, no matter our pace.
PS. Today is ELECTION DAY! So... make your vote count. Make your voice heard. If you are voting for my guy, get out and vote. If you are voting for the other guy, stay home, relax, we'll take of everything! :)

Great capture, that speedboat looks like it's really moving! I've been the guy in the sailboat, he's putting down his drink and getting ready to hold on when the wake hits. Nothing more annoying than when the speeders wave as they blow buy, oblivious to the fact that their wake is going to roll you all over.

Hi Wayne,
ReplyDeleteThe guy in the speedboat needs to learn some manners...what a jerk. Showing some consideration for others would be a great place to start.
